5 Health Boosting Benefits of Coffee

Sometimes in life you hear a piece of news and actually think 'you know what, everything is ok in the world'.

I had one of those rare moments the other day when listening to the radio. The DJ was talking about a study carried out by The Harvard School Of Public health which concluded that people who drank between 3-5 cups of coffee a day had about a 15% lower risk of dying prematurely than those who didn't drink it at all.

This was my understated reaction..

So after hearing this wonderful piece of information I decided to do a little research, turns out that coffee not only tastes mighty fine it can also ward off a whole heap of nasties as well as boosting the good stuff inside us. Read on caffeine fans.

Fact 1

Researchers at Harvard University discovered that long term coffee drinkers had a significantly reduced risk of developing type 2 diabetes 

Fact 2

Norwegian scientists discovered that caffeine had a positive effect on pain management, with subjects reporting that after drinking coffee any reported pain issues were reduced 

Fact 3

A 22 week study of 16 obese subjects discovered that by taking coffee green bean extract as part of controlled eating program, 37.5% of them reduced their weight to pre-obese levels.

Fact 4

The American Heart Association found that drinking just one cup of coffee per day reduced the risk of having a stroke by up to 20%

Fact 5

My favourite fact.. a study conducted by the US Navy Seals concluded that a daily cup of coffee enhanced cognitive function including vigilance, memory, learning and mood state.
